I had always wanted to paint in Italy, and in 2011 I got my chance I could not believe how beautiful this trip would be. Painting predominantly 'en plein air', Ralph captures lively landscapes inspired by his travels and everyday surroundings, often filled with people, dogs and moments of daily life. His expressive watercolour paintings are known for their movement, energy and touches of gold leaf, creating works that are both joyful and relatable.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-start para-style-body\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"\u003eFrom 1994 to 2004, Ralph operated Ralph Baker Illustration, providing illustration services to hospitals, universities and private medical companies while raising his two daughters. His painting Shelby 1 was a finalist in the 2013 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize.
