Within the order of edible goods, the grocer becomes a contemporary still life - devotional, domestic and intimate. The paintings linger in the space between excess and necessity, between spectacle and routine, acting as a record of the ordinary. A big inspiration for this series comes from American artist James Zamora and his focus on ‘the beauty of the ordinary, painted honestly.

About the artist:

Natalie Vogas is a Perth- based oil painter working in semi- realism focusing on people, objects and everyday scenes shaped by her travels and personal experiences. Through bold colour and intentional lighting, her work seeks to capture the essence of each subject rather than replicate it exactly, transforming the familiar into something more evocative and emotionally resonant. This exhibition marks the artists first step into the art world, representing both a culmination of her studies and an invitation for viewers to connect with the interplay of colour and form.
