Poets and musicians have long found inspiration in the shifting formations of sea and sky; these paintings continue that conversation, with each title paying homage to a poem or lyric. Together, image and written word give voice to water, our humble yet essential everyday companion.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eOil paint is the medium of choice for both artists. Its capacity to hold pigment suspended in oil allows light to pass through successive layers, creating depth, luminosity and movement. Varying degrees of opacity and transparency echo the way light moves across and through watery bodies of sea and sky, giving expression to the transient nature of their formations.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eShifting tides and cloudscapes mirror the rhythms of our loves and sorrows, as present, natural and essential to us as breath.
