About the artwork

Jasmine has an excellent contemporary style. She draws from photographs and iconic scenes that represent family moments and Aussie culture, and uses a simplified impressionistic style turning them into scenes that are familiar and nostalgic for everyone.

About the artist

Jasmine is a figurative painter and former journalist, so storytelling is naturally at the core of her practice. Her background interviewing Australians from all walks of life has taught her to observe people closely, a skill that now informs my approach to painting.

‘I paint everyday scenes inspired by old and new photographic references part of an ongoing investigation into how we connect with the past and the people who shaped us.’
