Momentary Company is inspired by chance encounters and unexpected moments of beauty — fleeting experiences that invite pause, presence, gratitude, and reflection.
The birds featured are splendid fairy wrens, native to Western Australia’s South West. Encountering them for the first time felt deeply symbolic; they do not inhabit the East Coast, so seeing them became one of those rare moments in travel where time seems to slow and the world quietly offers something extraordinary.

I often feel incredibly lucky to live in a country with such remarkable biodiversity. Our native birds, in particular, are something we can easily overlook, yet they are so unique, delicate, and deeply special to the Australian landscape.
This work is about more than place — it is about the feeling of being fully present within a moment you instinctively know you will remember forever.

About the artist

Stephanie Perrins is a Perth-based artist working on Whadjuk Noongar land. With a background in graphic design and over a decade of experience in the creative industry, her practice has evolved into a deeply intuitive exploration of colour, texture, and memory.

Her work is inspired by a love of travel and a strong connection to place, often drawing on memories of experiences and moments to create pieces that feel transportive and emotive. Rather than documenting specific locations or objects, Stephanie captures the essence of a place or memory - inviting the viewer to connect with a sense of stillness, nostalgia, and quiet beauty.
