Oxford Street Gallery presents 'quiet tension', a group exhibition featuring works by West Australian artists; Vania Lawson, Shanti Gelmi, Iwona Van Niewerk, Rhoda Kirk & Julie Smith.

Quiet Tension is an intimate winter exhibition bringing together the work of five Western Australian female artists whose practices explore themes of solitude, presence and mood. Across painting, printmaking and ceramics, the exhibition invites viewers into contemplative spaces where meaning unfolds slowly. Muted colour palettes create an atmosphere of stillness and introspection, while subtle and bold geometric patterns emerge throughout the works like a patchwork of identity, memory and lived experience. The female figure appears as a recurring presence, offering reflections on self. Together, these works embrace the tension between intimacy and distance, stillness and emotion, creating a thoughtful dialogue that lingers.

All artworks are for sale. Contact us for a catalogue or to preview ahead of the opening.
