About the artist:
Surface Tension explores the shifting textures, fractures and mineral patterns found within remote Australian Landscapes viewed from above. Through aerial abstraction, these works blur the line between land, water and erosion, transforming natural formations into painterly compositions that invite quiet observation and interpretation.
Rooted in years spent travelling remote country, her practice exists in the in-between — between scale and intimacy, erosion and stillness, movement and pause.
‘A quiet note...
This work exists alongside life — shaped by family, long roads, and seasons of change.
To the three small humans who keep her grounded, and to those who have quietly supported the journey: thank you.
This work carries traces of you, too.’
About the artist:
Caitlyn Deigan is a Western Australian fine art photographer whose work explores texture, form and shifting landscapes through an aerial perspective.
After spending nearly two decades living in the Northern Territory, her connection to remote Australia continues to shape the way she sees the land — drawn to salt plains, floodplains, coastlines, tidal traces and the quiet patterns often missed from the ground.
Working primarily from an aerial perspective, Caitlyn creates fine art landscapes that sit between abstraction and place. Her collections are shaped by distance, restraint and stillness — documenting not spectacle, but subtle detail, movement and memory within the landscape itself.
Her work has been featured in national and international publications, digital exhibitions and curated fine art spaces, with collections designed to be experienced at scale.
