About the artwork

Yasmin's practice reflects on our cultural desire to capture and control time. In this project she instead invites the viewer to consider time’s passing - not as a failure but as an essential part of human experience.

Contemporary culture constantly reminds us to cherish every second, to live fully in each moment. These pressures create a climate of quiet anxiety: the sense that time is always slipping away, that no gesture or exchange can ever be fully preserved. Her work does not attempt to solve this unease but instead sits with it.

She creates spaces where language lingers beyond its initial utterance. These works act as markers of presence and absence, of what has been said and what can never quite be repeated. Rather than resisting impermanence, she gives it form, acknowledging that beauty and meaning reside in what cannot be grasped or held indefinitely.

About the artist

Yasmin’s practice examines the relationship between language, time, and the quiet anxieties of impermanence. She works with fragments of everyday dialogue, capturing speech that is otherwise fleeting and overlooked, and translating it into visual form.

She responds not only to the instability of moments, but to the larger reality that time moves forward regardless of our efforts to hold it still.
