About the artwork:

The Venus Collection explores the enduring themes of love and beauty through the lens of contemporary abstraction. Ellie's studio practice approaches art as a vehicle for transformation, and emotional expression. Through a deliberate process of pouring, staining, and blending fluid acrylic on canvas, she creates soft, bleeding thresholds that suggest the dissolution of boundaries and the vulnerability inherent in truly loving and being loved.

Venus moves beyond visual beauty, exploring it as an active, breathing energy, something felt as much as it is seen. By balancing deeply saturated passages of warmth with airy, translucent layers. The works express the inherent unity of love, where intensity meets tenderness, strength embraces vulnerability, and presence flows into surrender. Through abstraction, the Venus Collection invites the viewer to move beyond representation and engage with beauty and emotion on a more intuitive, personal level.

About the artist:

Ellie is a contemporary abstract artist based in Perth, Australia, whose acrylic works explore the intersection of nature, emotion, and human resilience.

Her journey into abstraction began following a life-altering car accident in 2019, which left her with severe spinal and shoulder injuries and ultimately led her to leave behind a career she loved. During a profound period of physical and emotional recovery, Ellie turned to therapy, meditation, and deep inner work. Through this process, she discovered painting not only as a creative outlet, but as a powerful means of healing, self-expression, and transformation.

She formally established her studio practice a couple of years ago and has continued to develop her distinctive approach through independent practice and study alongside established mentors. Her dynamic compositions translate the rhythms and energy of the natural world into atmospheric environments, using layered colour, texture, and fluid movement to create a sense of depth and emotion.
