About the artist
Emma Lashmar is a Boorloo-born and based artist working with the endlessly expressive medium of hot glass. Trained through Monash University’s Fine Art (Glass) program in Melbourne, her practice has spanned large-scale installations incorporating sound and light, commercial lighting design for fine dining spaces, and bespoke commissions for private residences.
In the hotshop, Emma sculpts in dialogue with molten glass, relishing its rhythms of heating and cooling, blowing and shaping, flux and flow. Her current body of work is grounded in curiosity about the emotional bonds we form with everyday vessels, and so she crafts singular wares designed to elevate daily rituals and celebratory moments.
