About the artwork
We are all collectors of moments. Steph’s practice explores the feelings of connection, longing and appreciation that become intertwined with those experiences. Drawing inspiration from the Australian landscape, particularly the rugged beauty of the Pilbara, this body of work explores place as something felt rather than simply seen. Through layered colour, texture, expressive mark-making and abstraction, Steph aims to capture the warmth, stillness and awe of being humbled by a beautiful landscape — not depicting a particular place, but the emotional imprint it leaves behind. Her paintings invite a sense of nostalgia and escapism, offering a moment to pause, wander and reconnect with the feeling of somewhere expansive.
About the artist
Stephanie Perrins is a Perth-based with a background in graphic design and a lifelong connection to painting. Her practice is rooted in the exploration of colour, texture, nostalgia and warmth. Working primarily with acrylic and oil, Steph creates expressive, semi-abstract paintings that explore the emotional imprint of places, people and experiences. Her work has been exhibited across Australia and she has been a finalist in the Soho Studios Art Prize, Inside This Box with The Corner Store Gallery, the Art to Art Unearthed Art Prize and The Next Big Thing with Toowoomba Gallery.
