The autumn light on the Swan River is truly magical, nowhere more so than near Blackwall Reach. I am continually drawn to this place, captivated by its quiet beauty — especially on still days when the sun seems to settle upon the water itself, casting a golden glow that carries warmth across the river and through the branches of the languid trees.

About the artist

Jill Bryant has been creating and exhibiting artworks for more than 20 years, with her work collected throughout Australia. Over the past seven years, she has specialised in loose, expressive watercolours inspired by the coastal landscapes and waterways of the places she has called home. Her paintings are deeply rooted in a fascination with light and its ever-changing interplay within the natural environment. Through luminous washes and atmospheric detail, Jill seeks to capture the warmth, tranquillity, and quiet beauty of these landscapes, inviting the viewer to experience a sense of calm and connection within each piece.
